Participants of the academic team at MBMS are highly motivated sixth through eighth graders. To be on the team, the members “try-out” in the fall of the year by competing in a mock middle school competition. Questions for the competition are taken from the middle school math, science, language arts, and social studies curricula. Successful competitors will then practice at least once a week after school to prepare for the regional and state competitions which take place in the winter and spring. The coaches for the MBMS Academic Team are Mrs. Susan Noakes and Mr. Bert New.

Oconee County Schools will be a nationally-recognized leader in academic achievement by ensuring all students receive a rigorous, balanced education that will enable them to compete in and contribute to a global society.
