The State Chess Tournament is on Saturday, March 28, at Emory University.  Mr. Lewis needs to know who will definitely be able to participate.  There are 10 spots available.  Please see Mr. Lewis or contact him as soon as you can.

MATH TEAM

The Math Team traveled to Georgia Southwestern to compete this past Friday and came away with FIRST PLACE IN 4A, competing against 13 schools.  Our top scorer was Abdul Erol followed by Dina Kozlov and Keaton Coletti.  We had 3 of the top four scores.

The team travels to Georgia Tech this Saturday to compete.

Pictures will be made Wednesday during TT, please report promptly after checking in with your TT teacher.

M3 Competition this Sunday.  We have two official teams competing in this all day problem solving event.

LOCAL INVENTURE COMPETITION ON 3/12.   PUBLIC INVITED AT 6:30 TO VIEW PROJECTS AND HEAR THE JUDGES RESULTS IN THE COMMONS AREA.

FCCLA DAY AT THE CAPITOL

 FCCLA Day at the Capitol

On Thursday, February 12, 2015, student members from NOHS and MBMS Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) traveled to Atlanta for FCCLA Day at the Capitol.  Members toured the capitol, visited the Senate and House galleries, and met Governor and Mrs. Nathan Deal.

Congratulations to the Titan Tide for their performance at the State Meet. The girls placed 6th and the boys placed 46th in the 1-5A competition.

Among 4A schools, the girls placed 2nd behind St. Pius.

Anna Rose Moore placed 5th in the 200 Free (new school record) and 6th in the 100 Fly (new school record). Megan Measel placed 7th in the 100 Fly and 17th in the 200 IM.  Caroline Allen placed 12th in the 500 Free and 19th in the 100 Back (new school record).  Alexis Shirley placed 13th in the 100 Free (new school record) and 14th in the 200 Free.  Lyndsey Kalessa placed 20th in the 500 Free.

     

The relay team of Alexis Shirley, Emma Lowring, Caroline Allen, and Anna Rose Moore placed 4th in both the 200 and 400 Free Relays (new school record in the 400). The 200 Medley Relay of Anna Ash, Megan Measel, Kate Mattison, and Eliza Petersen placed 12th.  The 400 Free Relay of Tiaan Human, Troy Zhao, Dylan Kalessa, and Jack Wright placed 16th.

Additionally, Dylan Kalessa set new school records in the 200 IM and 100 Breast and Jack Wright set a new school record in the 50 Free.

The Georgia Parent Survey for the 2014-2015 school year is available. It will be open from November 3, 2014- February 27, 2015. The results from the survey will be used by the Georgia Department of Education to calculate a statewide accountability rating called the School Climate Star Rating within the College and Career Ready Performance Index (CCRPI). Please visit the following link to participate in this important survey that will be published statewide as a component of the new accountability system.
