We had an exciting week at OCHS! Our volleyball team advanced to the 2nd round of the GHSA playoffs and had a great season and represented OCHS with tremendous pride and competition. Our softball team defeated Eastside and will be traveling to Columbus to compete for the state championship October 27-29. The boys cross country team finished first in the area meet this week and both teams are now preparing for the region cross country meet next week.
All 9th and 10th graders took the PSAT on Wednesday. Many of our juniors also took the test in order to compete for the National Merit Scholarship.
OCHS is hosting a blood drive on October 28. The blood drive is hosted by HOSA.

Miss Legend 2017 registration is now open. All contestants must represent a school-sponsored activity, so any young lady who is interested in competing for the title and a $500 college scholarship should speak with her club sponsor or coach as soon as possible to express her interest. Registration ends Monday, December 12 or as soon as the 25 contestant spots are filled. The pageant will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2017.

FBLA officers attended the Fall Leadership Conference in Athens, Ga on Thursday November 17. The students participated in various leadership training seminars throughout the day, and competed in a statewide Monopoly Tournament, in which OCHS won their group and should advance to the finals to be held at the State Conference in March.
