Ms. Susan S.Smith

Susan Smith is excited to begin her twenty-second year in education. She has fourteen years of experience in elementary school and six years in middle school. She holds a Bachelors of Business degree from East Tennessee State University, a Masters in Education from East Tennessee State University, and a Specialist in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate degree from the University of Georgia in Educational Administration and Policy. She anticipates graduating from UGA in May of 2017.

After serving six years as Assistant Principal at Malcom Bridge Middle School, Mrs. Smith joined High Shoals in 2014 as Assistant Principal. She is very honored to begin her third year with the community and family of students.

She believes that all decisions made must support student learning. She wants to support the social, emotional, and educational growth of each and every student. This can be done daily as the staff, faculty, and parents work together to support our students in achieving their dreams.

Ms. Smith loves living in the Oconee County community with her husband of twenty-three years and their three children.

Our VISION

Oconee County Schools will be a nationally-recognized leader in academic achievement by ensuring all students receive a rigorous, balanced education that will enable them to compete in and contribute to a global society.
