Thad Burgess has over 35 years as a high school instructor and coach. He began his career as a Marketing Education teacher and Work Coordinator in Alabama for over 20 years. He comes to Oconee County after 13 years at Dawson County High School as a teacher and coach.
His background as a coach includes 20 years as a head basketball coach, 10 years as a head baseball coach, and 18 years as an assistant football coach. He also served as a Graduate Basketball Assistant at Auburn University for 3 years after lettering as a player at Auburn University.
He and his wife, Barbara, have 2 daughters that are graduates of UGA and also twin daughters that will begin UGA in the Fall of 2016.
