Mrs. Leah Mattison
Hello and welcome to MBMS!
I began my career as a teacher in 1990 and have experience in both the elementary and middle school settings.
In 1998, I became a school counselor at the elementary level and since 2002 have served as middle school counselor for Jefferson City Middle School, Oconee County Middle School and currently at Malcom Bridge Middle School. I have a passion for working with adolescents and helping them (and their parents) navigate though this dynamic and transitional period of their lives.
Currenty, I serve on the Leadership Team and the Teachers As Advisors committee at MBMS. I also co-sponsor the Student Council organization and the Bolt Ambassadors program at Malcom Bridge Middle. In the past, I have coached football cheerleading, basketball cheerleading, and competitive cheerleading at Madison County High School and Oconee Middle School. Through these activities I have enjoyed watching students develop responsibility, team work and leadership skills.
My husband, Ken, is the Director for the OCS Alternative Education Program. We have two children who attended MBES, MBMS and are graduates of North Oconee High School. We feel blessed to be part of this wonderful community and school system!
