• Clubs at HSES at a Glance


    High Shoals Elementary provides a suite of afterschool extracurricular activities to enrich our students. Some of these rotate every six weeks. Please see the list below for more information. 

HSES Art Club

    The HSES Art Club will be exploring the native legends of the Chilean rainsticks. Students in grade 3-5 may sign up for the fall art club or the spring art club.

HSES Chorus Club

  • Clare Eggletson

    The HSES Chorus Club is offered to our 2nd - 5th grade students as an after-school club each Fall. Chorus provides an opportunity for students to develop their musicality through singing in an ensemble. Students in Chorus Club will learn about the importance of proper breathing through warm-ups and singing exercises and practice responsible rehearsal habits. They will improve their score-reading skills as they perform a variety of repertoire from different historical periods and foreign languages. Most importantly, they will experience the joy of singing together!

Beta Club

    Fifth-grade students who qualify for Beta Club will receive an invitation.

    The mission statement of the National Beta Club is “to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students. To reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.” The Beta Club organization focuses on four key areas in order to carry out their mission statement. These areas are:

    Achievement-Recognizing and honoring high academic achievement
    Character-Preparing young people for life and empowering them to be successful
    Leadership-Developing the leaders of tomorrow
    Service-Demonstrating our motto: Let Us Lead by Serving Others

PE Club

    Hawks PE club will provide opportunities for students to experience a variety of physical activities that will contribute to an active lifestyle and enhance their leisure-time physical activity.  Oh yea, let’s not forget…..HAVE FUN!

Ukulele Club

    The HSES Ukulele Club is offered to 3rd - 5th grade students as an after-school club each Spring. In Ukulele Club, students will work on strumming skills and learn a variety of basic chords. Students will play together as an ensemble a variety of repertoire with an emphasis on current pop music.
