Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Alicia Cook

My family moved to Oconee County in 1988.  I graduated from Oconee County High School in 1998 where I marched in band and cheered.  I attended Brenau University, where I graduated with my BS in middle grades education.  I am certified to teach social studies, science, language arts, and reading.  I also have my gifted endorsement.  I began my teaching career in Jackson County at East Jackson Middle School (in 2003) before coming home to Oconee County Middle in 2005.

After teaching 10 years, I decided to complete my Masters in middle grades language arts education at Piedmont College, followed by my Educational Specialist degree in educational leadership.  I also coached cheerleading for 10 years before deciding that I needed to be a mommy.  I have also coached track and volleyball.

I am married with two boys, both in the Oconee County schools.  My husband is also in education as a high school guidance counselor, so education is in our blood.  I love being a part of this community, and I truly believe in this education system.
