Charles Adams

Hi, I am Charles Adams and began my teaching career in Athens, Georgia in 1988. I have taught at Fowler Drive Elementary and Gaines Elementary School. In the summer of 1990, my wife who is also an elementary teacher, we moved to Germany to teach on an American Military Base. We taught at Illesheim Elementary and Middle School in the Nuernberg District. We lived in Germany for two years and then returned home to teach in Athens, Georgia. I accepted a teaching position in Oconee County in the summer of 1997 at Oconee County Elementary School. My wife and I accepted teaching positions at High Shoals Elementary when the school opened in 2009. In the Spring of 2012, I earned a certificate in Special Education General Curriculum. I worked with 3, 4, & 5 grade students in the SPED program at High Shoals Elementary. I am currently teaching 3rd grade at HSES.

During my teaching career, I have been involved and worked with many committees from the school level to the district level. Some of the committees I have served on include: Science Fair Committee, Math Committee,District Mapping Committee, Team Leader for 4th & 5th grades, Communications Committee, Report Card Committee, and Facilities Committee. While teaching at Gaines Elementary School in Athens, I was honored with the Teacher of the Year Award in 1996 and in 1997.

My wife, Becky, is an elementary school teacher. We have been married since 1988. We have two children, Christopher and Kate. I have been active as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America since 1986. I am currently the Scoutmaster of Troop 80 in Watkinsville.
