Ms. Jennifer Whitaker

Ms. Jennifer Whitaker is the principal of High Shoals Elementary School. A three-time graduate of the University of Georgia, Ms. Whitaker holds a Specialist degree in Education, a Master’s degree in Elementary Education, and a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She is certified in Leadership and in teaching ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages).

Beginning her career in 2002, most of Ms. Whitaker's work in education has been in Oconee County. She has taught kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th students. She has been the assistant principal at Rocky Branch Elementary School, as well as the assistant principal and principal at Oconee County Primary School.

Ms. Whitaker is active with the Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, serving as chairperson for the Chamber Education Committee. She is a member of Watkinsville First Baptist Church and a sustaining member of the Junior League of Athens. She enjoys reading, traveling, and UGA athletics.
