Dr. Scott Thompson
I started teaching at North Oconee High School in Fall of 2013. I spent the previous 5 years teaching Physics and Physical Science at Georgia Gwinnett College. Prior to that I taught AP Physics at Collins Hill High School in Gwinnett. I also taught Nuclear Physics and Reactor Dynamics at the Naval Nuclear Power School for 4 years.
I completed a B.S. in Physics at Georgia Tech in 1995, and finished my Masters in Physics in 1997. After completing my Masters, I served in the US Navy for 4 years, and then spent a year at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in Atlanta before returning to school to pursue my Ph.D. I completed my Doctorate in Physics at the University of Georgia in 2007.
