Coach Lucas and his family moved to Oconee County by way of Carrollton, Georgia. He and his beautiful wife Shannon (of Weaver, Alabama) have 2 wonderful children. Their daughter, Brantley, is enrolled at North Oconee. She aspires to be an Elite Gymnast. Their son, Brody, is a student at Rocky Branch and wants to be a "fish trainer" when he grows up.

He will be working within the CTAE Department teaching Graphic Design. Coach Lucas grew up in Rome, Georgia, where he attended Pepperell High School. He was a four sport letterman while at Pepperell and was captain of the varsity football and wrestling team his Junior and Senior year. After high school, he attended Jacksonville State University on a 4 year scholarship. Coach Lucas teaches graphic design and is the advisor for SkillsUSA. He also coached football and wrestling here at North Oconee. He came to us from Carrollton High School where he helped coordinate the offense and special teams. Before his tenure at Carrollton, he coordinated the offense at Haralson County High School where he helped lead their offense to a top 5 statistical ranking in the state. He helped lead them to their first ever playoff game in school history and two years later a 9-1 record and the first ever home playoff game.

Coach Lucas enjoys building relationships with his students and players and teaching them about life after football. He is passionate about what he does.

While not teaching or coaching, he enjoys spending all of his time with this family. This mostly includes watching gymnastics and/or Jake & the Neverland Pirates. He and his family are very excited about being at North Oconee and are proud to be members of the Titan Nation.
