Hello! My name is Randi Boykin, and I am so fortunate to serve as the school counselor at Oconee County Primary School!
I will begin by letting you know that I am a graduate of the University of Georgia. I taught preschool-aged students with special needs in Greene County for three years. From there, I actually moved to Oconee County to teach preschool special education for three more years at OCPS. When High Shoals Elementary opened, I taught there in both in the special education and general education settings. Over my career, I have earned degrees and endorsements in early childhood education as well as for teaching students who qualify for ESOL and Gifted programs. I earned a master's degree in school counseling during the time I was working at High Shoals. I am so happy to be back at OCPS with my Little Chief family! There is something truly special about the community of students, teachers, and families at the Primary.
In addition to my years of experience teaching in the classroom, I also worked at Extra Special People. ESP is a local nonprofit organization that supports children and adults with disabilities by providing year-round programming to support their social and physical needs. As a former special education teacher, I am passionate about finding ways to meet the learning needs of all students as well as celebrating the strengths of every student that I support.
My husband Tyler started his career at Rocky Branch Elementary before moving to High Shoals to serve as their school counselor. He is currently the Assistant Principal at Youth Elementary School in Walton County. I have two children who attend Oconee County Schools. Some of my favorite things to do outside of school are volunteering at church and attending my children’s sports/extracurricular activities. Former students of mine may also know that reading and chocolate are two other favorites of mine as well. :)
I am excited to be working with a great team of people who will work hard to make sure that our students have a year of school full of progress and fun! I will do everything I can to ensure that our Little Chiefs are happy and safe at OCPS. Feel free to call me at school, to email me with questions, comments or concerns, or to come by and visit as your schedule allows.
