Greetings! My name is Kim Woody, and I joined the Oconee County School System during the 2015-2016 school year after completing an internship in the 2014 school year. Currently, I am completing my clinical fellowship as the speech-language pathologist at OCES and OCMS. I earned my B.S.Ed in Communication Sciences & Disorders at the University of Georgia, and continued my Graduate studies at Valdosta State University where I earned my M.Ed in Communication Sciences and Disorders. During my graduate studies, I was awarded a grant to present my research on vocal health in student teachers, and created a vocal hygiene program that was later implemented into the VSU education program. I attended the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association national conference in 2014 where I presented my research with a colleague during a poster presentation. After completing my clinical studies, I was selected from the entire CSD graduate program, and awarded VSU’s outstanding clinician of the year. I currently provide speech-language services to students grades 3-8, and I absolutely love my work. My goal is to provided maximum opportunities for my students to efficiently, and effectively, communicate their wants, needs, thoughts, ideas, and to form positive relationships with their teachers and peers within the academic setting.
