Amy Ward
My name is Amy Ward and I have worked at Colham Ferry Elementary since 2011. I began my teaching career in 1994. I taught a year in 5th grade, 8 years in 3rd grade, and currently teaching 2nd grade. I was also a paraprofessional for three years in Third Grade at Colham Ferry prior to teaching 2nd grade. I graduated from North Georgia College and State University with a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education. I am also gifted certified. Since I was 5 years old, I have wanted to be a teacher. Children are a blessing and working with them each day is a privilege. My goal as an educator is to provide unique learning experiences which will inspire students to soar in their academics, as well as build character and citizenship in each child.
I was born and raised in Lawrenceville, Georgia. My husband Keith and I moved to Oconee County in 2007. We have 4 children. Our oldest three; Ethan, MaKayla, and Caleb are triplets. Connor is our youngest. I took 9 years off from teaching to stay at home with my children. I enjoy teaching and watching children's minds grow. I enjoy the outdoors, spending time with my family, reading, and scrapbooking.
I am excited about the new year with my second grade students. This is going to be an amazing year.
