Amy Summerford graduated from UGA with a passion for teaching students about the natural world. She taught environmental education to students K-12 on Jekyll Island for 2 years. Upon gaining knowledge of the coast and ocean life, Amy went on to pursue her Divemaster’s certification in Roatan, Honduras. After she completed her, Amy returned home to Georgia to begin working at the Georgia Aquarium in Guest Programs. At the aquarium, Amy taught people of all ages, young and old, about fish, wildlife, and the importance of conservation. It was with this experience that Amy gained the ambition to pursue her career as a high school science teacher. Amy is proud to be an Oconee County High School Warrior!
