Philip Manning

I began my teaching career in 2010 at the Houston County Career Academy in Warner Robins, Ga. While teaching at HCCA, I served as business teacher, FBLA adviser, and Work Based Learning Coordinator. I also was an assistant coach for the Middle Georgia Tech Titans basketball team during this time. After two years at HCCA, I relocated to Heard County High School in Franklin, GA. During my 3 years at Heard County, I taught Advanced Algebra and Pre-Calculus. I also served as the head coach for boys basketball and coached track & field.

In the spring of 2015, I was made aware of an opening at Oconee County High School and jumped at the opportunity to apply. Since my student teaching experience at OCHS in 2010, it was my dream to become an Oconee County Warrior! I'm now entering my 8th year at OCHS. This year I will be teaching Introduction to Software Technology,  Computer Science Principles, and AP Computer Science Principles. In addition to my teaching duties, I serve as the adviser for Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), and I'm also the head coach for our girls basketball program.

My wife Chelsey and I are proud residents of Oconee County with our son Marshall and our dog Bella (she'd rather not share her age).

I am very excited about the upcoming school year, and am happy to answer any questions you might have about my classes, basketball, or FBLA!
