Mrs. Amy Mize
Amy Mize has been teaching at Oconee County High School since 1998. She was hired after student teaching at OCHS in 1997-98.
She graduated magna cum laude from the Honors Program at the University of Georgia in 1998.
She graduated summa cum laude with her Master's Degree in English Education from the University of Georgia in 2005.
She graduated summa cum laude with her Specialist's Degree in Instructional Technology from the University of West Georgia in 2021.
She is certified in Gifted Education, Advanced Placement Literature and Composition, and Advanced Placement Language and Composition.
In July 2015, she was a presenter at the AP National Conference in Austin, Texas. She is also an AP Reader who scores AP Literature exams.
Amy Mize was Oconee County High School's Teacher of the Year in 2005-2006. She was also selected as STAR Teacher in 2008, 2011, 2013, and 2016.
Amy loves working with the students at OCHS and especially enjoys discussing literature and “big ideas” with them.
Amy has two boys, Kelson and Brayden, and has been married to Josh Mize since 2003.
