Leigh Anne Shore

Leigh Anne Shore began her teaching career in North Carolina in August of 2000. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with both a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary (Early Childhood) Education, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in English. Following graduation, she achieved licensure in the areas of both Elementary Education and ESL (ESOL). In addition, she completed her Gifted Endorsement in 2019.

After graduation, she taught for over 10 years in the school system near her hometown, where she discovered that to be a better teacher in the region, she should become fluent in Spanish. In 2003, she completed the Spanish Immersion Program at Middlebury College in Vermont, and was selected for a Rotary International Scholarship, which in 2005 allowed her to study for three months at the University of Salamanca in Spain.

After the births of her 2 children, Leigh Anne was fortunate enough to be able to stay at home to care for them, but continued to pursue her passion for teaching by tutoring at the local elementary schools and teaching part-time at Lewisville United Methodist Church Preschool.

In 2015, Leigh Anne and her family moved to Oconee County, Georgia, to support her loving husband who is employed by the University of Georgia. She began working at Colham Ferry Elementary the following year; she loves her job and is proud to be a Mustang!
