Mrs. Chelsey Yancey
Born and raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Mrs. Yancey moved to Georgia in 2001 to attend the University of Georgia. During her time there, she was also a member of the UGA Football Cheerleading squad. GO DAWGS!
After graduating in 2005, Mrs. Yancey and her husband moved to Covington, Georgia. During their two years in Newton County, Mrs. Yancey taught at Alcovy High School while coaching cheerleading. Mr. Yancey taught at Eastside High School and coached football and girls' soccer. The Yancey family then spent the next 8 years as educators in Monroe County (Forsyth, GA). Mrs. Yancey spent 5 years teaching at the middle school level while her husband taught and coached at Mary Persons High School. Eventually, he became the assistant principal at the middle school, and Mrs. Yancey spent their last three years in Monroe County teaching 4th and 5th grades at TGScott Elementary School. In the summer of 2015, the Yancey family transitioned to Oconee County. Mr. Yancey is in his third year as the Athletic Director and one of the assistant principals at OCHS. Mrs. Yancey spent the 2015-2016 school year teaching at Haymon-Morris Middle School in Barrow County and began teaching at OCMS in the fall of 2016. Mr. and Mrs. Yancey have three of the most awesome boys: Tate, a 9th grader; Hudson, a 4th grader; and Cal who is 4.
