Announcements: Mrs. Kari Tanner, the Title I teacher, will be available on August 3rd from 8:30-9:30 and 1:15-2:15 to discuss any feedback or answer any questions in regards to the Title I drafts that are posted on the website. After that time, the drafts will be finalized.
An Annual Title I Parent Meeting will be held in Mrs. Tanner's room (room 152) before each grade levels Open House/Curriculum Night beginning at 5:30 pm on the following dates: Monday, August 22 (3rd Grade), Tuesday, August 23 (4th Grade), and Thursday, August 25 (5th Grade); additionally, parents will have the option of attending the Annual Title I Parent Meeting at 7:45 on Friday, August 26 as well.
OCES has developed a draft of our proposed Parent Compact, Parent and Family Engagement Plan, and the Targeted Assistance Plan. Parent and Family Engagement Plan:
Each year, Title l Schools must develop a written policy describing how the school will support the important role of parents in their child’s learning. With parental input, OCES will develop the 2016-2017 Parent and Family Engagement Plan. The Parent and Family Engagment Plan will provide information regarding parental and family involvement, parent/family/teacher notification and communication, student achievement, and budget. This plan will be adopted in August 2016 after adjustments are made based on the feedback given during Open House and through email communications.
Targeted Assistance School Plan:
The Targeted Assistance School Plan will outline and explain elements of the program such as: instructional strategies and programs, selection criteria, provisions for instruction, and procedures for assessment.
School Parent Compact:
The School Parent Compact will outline how parents, staff, and students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement. The compact describes how school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help a child achieve the State’s high standards.
Title l Newsletter:
To further support parents and their critical role in their child’s learning, a monthly newsletter will also be sent home. Each newsletter will offer reading and/or math tips for parents. The hope is that the newsletter will help facilitate conversations about learning at home, and will further prepare parents to help their child with their academics. These newsletters will come home monthly in the Friday Folder.
