Dr. Kristen Donaldson
Dr. Kristen Donaldson is the Director of Choirs at Oconee County Middle School in Watkinsville, GA. She also serves as the statewide coordinator for the Georgia Music Educator's Association Sixth Grade Honor Chorus and the Middle School Repertoire and Resources Chair for the Southern Division of the American Choral Director's Association. She also serves as the President of RespirOpera Inc, a community opera company based here in Watkinsville.
Dr. Donaldson received her B.A. in Vocal Performance from Asbury University and her M.M. in Choral Conducting from the University of Kentucky under the direction of Dr. Jefferson Johnson. She received her Ed.D. in Music Education from the University of Georgia in 2017.
Choirs under Dr. Donaldson's direction have received first place/superior ratings in various state music competitions, including state Literary, and have performed in GMEA Elementary Honor Chorus, Sixth Grade Statewide Honor Chorus, and All-State Chorus. Dr. Donaldson's choirs have performed and toured throughout the United States and Europe. Favorite venues for these performances have included Carnegie Hall and St. John Divine Cathedral in New York City, Disney World, The Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville Tennessee, St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague, The Monastery of St. Francis Assisi in Italy, and the American Cathedral in Paris.
Dr. Donaldson is looking forward to another fantastic year of music making with the students at Oconee County Middle School this year!
