Participants of the academic team at MBMS are highly motivated sixth through eighth graders. To be on the team, the members “try-out” in the fall of the year by competing in a mock middle school competition. Questions for the competition are taken from the middle school math, science, language arts, and social studies curricula. Successful competitors will then practice at least once a week after school to prepare for the regional and state competitions which take place in the winter and spring. The coach for the MBMS Academic Team is Eric Schirmer.
