Jennifer Heidesch

Born and raised in Georgia, my siblings and I were brought up by kind, honest, hard-working parents who immigrated to the U.S. after graduating from The National Taiwan University.

I earned my first bachelor's at the University of Georgia.  During the summers of my Bulldog years, I worked with rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders as a 4-H camp counselor.  I coached kids through low-rope obstacle courses, zip lines and climbing walls.  I taught arts and crafts, helped with outdoor recreation, created and performed skits and dance routines.  I led cheers, wiped tears, and challenged fears.  Little did I know, all of these experiences would lead me to become an educator.

After graduating from UGA, I attended the John H. Loundsbury School of Education of Georgia College and State University where I discovered my true passion - teaching middle grades mathematics.  It was a perfect blend of many things I enjoyed.  Since then, I have earned a master's in middle grades education, a specialist in curriculum and instruction, and certification to teach gifted students.

With 18 years of experience teaching middle grades math, my mission is to help my students become great problem solvers and excellent citizens who are loving, helpful, appreciative, open-minded, productive, creative and resilient.  My husband is also dedicated to supporting our youth as a child and adolescent therapist in Oconee County where we reside.  We love this community and want to help it thrive.
