Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Rebecca Hayes

I have been a teacher since 2014. I have taught first grade and EIP (first and second grades). I am thrilled to be teaching second grade at CFES! I live in the local community, and it means a great deal to me to teach in the community where I live and in the school where my son will one day attend. I live in Oconee county with my husband and our son.

I have a Bachelor’s of Education from the University of Georgia. My Master’s Degree in Education was obtained at Kennesaw State University, and my Specialist Degree in Education is from the University of West Georgia. I also have my reading endorsement from the University of Georgia and my ESOL endorsement from Kennesaw State University.

The reason I became an educator is because of my belief in answering the “why’s” in life. I believe that education is about questioning the world around you. As a teacher, I do not want my students to blindly accept anything, but I encourage them to learn through inquiry and exploration. My goal is to provide students with a high quality education while fostering creativity and social/emotional connections. I help my students strive for excellence, not just in academics, but also in life.
