Hello! My name is Makayla Gonter, and I am a First Grade teacher at Dove Creek. I graduated from the University of Georgia with my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and from Valdosta State University with my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction in Accomplished Teaching. I also have certifications in Special Education, Gifted, and my Reading Endorsement. I have taught at Dove Creek as a Special Education teacher and First Grade teacher. I have always had a passion for teaching children and helping each child meet their full potential by fostering a loving and caring learning environment. I am excited for this opportunity to support these students through their learning endeavors and help them achieve their goals for this year.

My husband and I were married in June 2022. We have a sweet yellow lab named Waylon. We love going to Georgia football games, traveling to the lake and beach, and spending quality time with our family.
