Degrees and Certifications:
Hi there! My name is Sarah Ackerman and I have been teaching since 2012. I taught for 7 years in Gwinnett County at Margaret Winn Holt Elementary and J.G. Dyer Elementary. This is my 1st year teaching in Oconee County at Malcom Bridge Elementary. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Gwinnett College. I also hold a Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University. I am a gifted education and ESOL endorsed teacher and also have experience working with Special Education students.
I live in Watkinsville with my husband Bryan, our two children Gracie (15) and Ben (6), our Irish Cream Golden Retriever Sam, and our two cats Deuce and Coupe. In my free time I enjoy reading books, taking pictures, relaxing on my back porch, and watching movies with my family.
I am excited to have your child in my class this year! A motto that has been with me for years is one which I strongly believe forms the structure of my classroom: Learning for All, Whatever It Takes. My hope is for all of my students to become life-long learners and build a confidence which follows them throughout their lives.
