Melanie attended Georgia Military College Prep School before graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in English Education. She studied at Oxford through UGA's study abroad program, and completed her student teaching 9th Honors Literature at OCHS under the guidance of Mrs. Maffeo. In 2019-20, she taught at Athens Christian School, and in 2020, she completed her Master's degree in Language and Literacy Education with a Reading Endorsement. She has been teaching at OCHS since 2020. She has served as Dance Team coach, Student Council Sponsor, and ELA Action Team member. She has taught all high school grades and levels of rigor, and she thoroughly enjoys it all.
