Degrees and Certifications:
Alana Stanton
My name is Alana Stanton and I am thrilled to be a first grade teacher at Oconee County Primary School. I graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005 and earned my masters degree in Literacy from Walden University in 2009. I started out my career in Gwinnett County teaching first grade then looping to second grade at Bethesda Elementary. I then taught kindergarten for seven years at Mulberry Elementary. During that time I also had the opportunity to teach technology activities and teach enrichment in both reading and math. I am gifted certified and enjoy enriching all students, helping them reach their highest potential.
I am passionate about student learning and have made my classroom a place where students can shine. I believe that relationships always come first and the classroom should be a place where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
My husband is the assistant principal at Colham Ferry Elementary. We have three children; Claire (4th grade), Audrey (3rd grade), and Kate (Pre-K). They fill our lives with so much joy and help us stay active.
I am so excited for this year and cannot wait to get to know your child. It will be a wonderful year full of hands-on learning, challenges, and fun experiences. What a gift it is to be called an educator!
