Mrs. Julie Jenkins
My name is Julie Jenkins and I teach Reading, Language Arts and Social Studies at Oconee Elementary School. I was a parapro at OCES for 2 years prior to transferring with my lead teacher to Malcom Bridge Elementary for 8 years. I graduated from Piedmont University in 2015 after completing my student teaching at Oconee Elementary. I have been teaching in Clarke County since graduation. I taught Pre-K and Second grade at Whit Davis Elementary.
My husband Richard and I were married in 1987 in Athens. We live in Watkinsville. We have two sons, Jeremy (wife Candice) and Carson. We have twin granddaughters, Emerson and Henley.
I currently have two dogs, two cats, two rabbits, two leopard geckos, a turtle and a fish. I have a hard time saying no to four legged critters. I love reading, gardening and shopping at thrift shops.
I am honored to be part of the OCES family. I will bring compassion, encouragement and high expectations to my students and my team. I want to encourage my students to be lifelong learners and find a love for reading.
