    Mission Statement

The Oconee County Technology department is dedicated to managing complexity, guarding stakeholder data, and improving instruction

Students and parents in Oconee County expect the school system to provide a quality modern educational environment that will prepare their children for the modern world. Technological tools are vital to this process. Having access to real-world tools helps students gain the technological skills needed to be lifelong learners and prepares them for successful careers. Parents can learn more about classroom technology and find additional resources by visiting the Parent Classroom Technology Guide page.

Technology is a tool for teachers and students. It increases student engagement, teacher productivity, content differentiation, and the amount of readily available student learning data. A variety of technology tools can be used to teach rigorous content in all content areas.  Benchmark assessments and instructional technology tools enable teachers to gain information about individual student performance. Email, digital tools, and VoIP classroom phones help teachers efficiently communicate with parents and other teachers.

All students have access to a Chromebook for each student thus making OCS a 1:1 district. Google Drive folders have been established for the students to save their work. In addition, middle and high school students have access to modern computers in the computer labs and media centers. Students at all levels have the resources necessary to produce materials that demonstrate their acquisition of both basic skills and higher-order thinking skills using modern technology tools.
