Mrs. Lynne Gant
Since 2001, Mrs. Lynne Gant (Señora Gant) has been a middle school Spanish teacher, teaching Spanish Connections and Level 1 Spanish. Sra. Gant holds two degrees in Spanish Language and the Teaching of Foreign Language- a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia State University and a Master of Arts from Auburn University. During her undergraduate and graduate studies, she also completed courses in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and Madrid and Salamanca, Spain through three separate study-abroad programs. Over her career, Sra. Gant has been recognized by professors, co-workers, and administration with opportunities to present at state, regional, and national conferences and with Teacher of the Year awards. Sra. Gant’s passion for teaching Spanish comes from her experience as a second language learner, her travels abroad, and her research and implementation of cutting-edge teaching methodologies. It is her belief that foreign language is best acquired in a proficiency-based and target language-rich classroom filled with engaging activities that are meaningful to students and that lead to purposeful communication.
Sra. Gant is originally from Gwinnett and has resided in Walton since 2005. When not traveling, she and her husband enjoy spending time in Monroe with family and friends. She is honored to teach for Oconee Public Schools and is especially excited to be part of Dove Creek’s inaugural staff. Go, Knights! ¡Vaya, Caballeros!
