Ms. Katie Elder
Ms. Katie Elder attended the University of Georgia where she obtained her undergraduate degree in Human Development and Family Science. After graduation, she stayed in Athens and began working in the non-profit sector. After a few years in the professional world, she became a "Double Dawg" and graduated with a degree in Leadership & Non-profit Management from UGA.
Ms. Elder's career in education began in 2021 at Dacula High School in Gwinnett County. Here, she obtained her teaching certification through the Teach Gwinnett program. Ms. Elder served as the 9th grade ELA course team leader, student council co-sponsor, and advisor of 9-10th grade peer leadership and facilitation. In her first year teaching, Ms. Elder was recognized as Dacula's "First Year Teacher of the Year."
Ms. Elder looks forward to teaching 9th and 10th grade language arts as well as serving as the yearbook advisor at OCHS!
