Degrees and Certifications:

Jenna Cantin

My family moved to Suwanee, Georgia from West Des Moines, Iowa, in 1988.  I grew up in Gwinnett County and graduated from Collins Hill High School in 2003.

In 2007, I graduated from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Middle Grades Education with specialties in Language Arts, Reading, and Social Studies.  I also have a Master's Degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment and an Educational Specialist degree from Brenau University in Middle School Ed.  I began teaching in 2007 at Lanier Middle School in Buford, Georgia in Gwinnett County.  There I taught 6th grade Language Arts. In 2010, I moved to Grayson, Georgia, also in Gwinnett County, to help open Bay Creek Middle School.  At Bay Creek I taught 6th and 7th grade Language Arts and Social Studies and earned my Gifted endorsement.  I came to Oconee County Middle School in 2014.  Here I have taughted 6th grade Advanced Language Arts and Social Studies.

I married my husband, Matthew, in 2007, and we purchased our first house in Bethlehem, Georgia in Barrow County.  We welcomed our first child, Preston, in 2009; our second child, Maisie, in 2011; and our third child, Rhett, in 2020.  Preston is in 7th grade here at OCMS, Maisie is in 5th grade at High Shoals Elementary, and Rhett goes to Rocky Branch Academy.

We love this community and its small town feel.  During the fall, on Thursday nights, you will find me at OCMS football games cheering on the Braves, and on Fridays we rarely miss a Warriors football game.  I love working in this school system and I am thrilled to be a part of the OCMS family.
