I have been teaching physical science since 2008, and I have a true passion for the subject! If you want to see me geek out, mention chemistry or physics and prepare your camera! I even have a license plate to reflect my love of physical science. I have been teacher of the year, team leader, grade level leader, science content leader and a Science Olympiad coach. I have continued my love of learning by getting a master's degree in Science Education and becoming certified to teach gifted classes. Additional degrees are in the works!

What does a typical week look like in my science class? Generally a concept or concepts will be introduced to make sure all kids are starting out with the same, basic information. Then, we will engage in labs or activities to discover more about the concepts. Of course, when we are studying atoms or nuclear chemistry, we can't really look at atoms or handle radioactive materials so we do other activities that help kids understand how those concepts work!

One great thing to keep in mind is that this class offers a very hands-on experience while gaining high school credit... so be prepared to WORK HARD and HAVE FUN (in that order). =)
