Degrees and Certifications:
Hi! My name is Erin Wells and I am the nurse at OCMS. I have been a registered nurse since 2016 and have been the nurse at OCMS since December of 2021. My husband and I have four sons in Oconee County Schools and we absolutely love this special county that we call home! It is truly an honor to serve the children and families of Oconee County as a school nurse. My goal each and every day is to make sure that our students are safe, healthy and ready to get the most out of their time in the classroom.
Here are a few helpful guidelines:
- If your child has a temperature greater than 100.3 degrees, please keep them home until they are fever-free for 24 hours without medication.
- If a child becomes ill at school (vomiting, diarrhea, etc.), I will call you to arrange for pick-up. Please keep them at home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours without medication.
- If you have found and/or treated for lice in your child's hair, please notify me. I want to discreetly, but aggressively, protect children and classrooms from repeated occurrences by doing rechecks or classroom checks where needed.
- If your child must have medication of any type during school hours, including over the counter or prescription medications, an "Administration of Medication" form must be completed and returned to the clinic. Whenever possible, medications should be given at home, before or after school.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or health concerns!
