Sarah Ackerman

Hello! My name is Sarah Ackerman. This will be my 12th year teaching. I taught for 8 years in Gwinnett County before coming to Oconee County Schools. This will be my 4th year teaching in Oconee County at Malcom Bridge Elementary. I absolutely love it here and know MBES is my home. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught 1st, 2nd, and 5th grade. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Gwinnett College and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Reading and Mathematics from Walden University. I am a gifted education and ESOL endorsed teacher and also have experience working with Special Education students. I also recently received my specialist degree in Instructional Technology, Media, and Design.

I live in Watkinsville with my husband, Bryan, our three children, Gracie (18), Ben (9), Emma (2), along with our Irish Cream Golden Retriever, Sam. In my free time, I enjoy reading books, gardening, hiking, taking pictures, relaxing on my back porch, and watching the University of Georgia football with my family.

I am excited to have your child in my class this year! I have a motto that I strongly believe forms the structure of my classroom: Learning for All, Whatever It Takes. My hope is for all of my students to become life-long learners and display a confidence which follows them throughout their lives.
